About Vail ReRBN

What is Vail ReRBN?

Vail ReRBN is a spot aggregator for the Reverse Beacon Network (RBN). It ingests live spot data from the RBN telnet servers and provides a simple web interface and REST API for searching and analyzing amateur radio spots.

What is RBN?

The Reverse Beacon Network is a worldwide network of receiving stations (called "skimmers") that automatically decode CW, RTTY, FT8, and other digital mode signals. When you call CQ or work a station, nearby skimmers report your signal to the network, showing where you're being heard and at what signal strength.

Features

  • Real-time ingestion - Spots are collected from both CW/RTTY and FT8 streams
  • Simple search - Look up spots by callsign with filters for mode, band, and time
  • REST API - Programmatic access to spot data for your applications
  • Long-term storage - Historical data available for analysis

API Access

Vail ReRBN provides a free REST API for accessing spot data. See the API documentation for details on available endpoints and usage.
